Why your diet and what you eat can cause depression

You’ve probably heard the phrase “What you eat affects your mental health.” I can confirm this based on my 25 years of experience and experimentation. Many people lack knowledge and believe that depression is caused by sadness or a chemical imbalance. However, it is much more than that, even things you never would have guessed.

If sadness caused depression, then every sad person on the planet would be depressed. One of the causes of temporary depression and feelings of hopelessness is sadness. Most of all illnesses, in my philosophy and opinion, are caused by a combination of several factors and reasons. There isn’t just one specific reason.

Having said that, eating the wrong, unhealthy foods not only does not provide adequate nutrition but also saps your energy to the point of exhaustion and depression. More of this harmful habit can lead to unwanted illnesses in the long run. In other words, diet and nutrition are strongly linked to depression.

So, eating unhealthy foods in an unreasonable amount and at the wrong time can result in digestive problems, which further impact your vitality and decrease the energy of your body and organs. This affects the brain as well, so you are physically slow and psychologically dull. Depressed people tend to have low vitality.

Eating the wrong foods drains your energy by putting additional strain on your body. The more stress your body has to deal with, the more tired you will feel in the long run. Your body requires essential vitamins and minerals to function properly to absorb nutrients and deal with digestion issues as well as toxins from undigested foods.
