Why and How Do Indigestion and Gas Can Cause Back Pain

Indigestion and gas in your gut could be one of the causes of your back pain. My experiment and knowledge advise that sometimes back pain is caused by eating the wrong foods and the body’s inability to digest the food properly, resulting in acid reflux, heartburn, gas, and bloating. Consistent indigestion can decrease vitality and cause back pain in some people.

Sometimes, the effects reach the back, adding to the discomfort. Stomach acid can enter the esophagus when the lower esophageal sphincter weakens, leading to back pain and esophageal lining irritation.

Back pain can worsen from sedentary lifestyles, poor posture, and diets high in spicy, acidic, or fatty foods.

Digestive discomfort can cause nausea and aggravate back pain. The tension that travels up the neck and chest from the esophagus can cause pain in the back as well.

Everyone reacts differently, so some people may experience back pain due to indigestion, especially if they have a weak lower back.

The feeling of throwing up due to acid reflux puts a lot of stress on your organs and body. One reason I can think of is that the body is trying to relieve the tension and get rid of the gas.

In addition, to do this, the body requires energy, and as I mentioned in my other post, “Indigestion puts tremendous stress on your body,” your energy is reduced. The symptom you will notice is back pain, especially in the morning.

After eating certain foods or consuming adequate calories with enough rest, the pain goes away later in the day. If one has not slept well and missed some hours, the pain will be more noticeable.

I recommend not eating too late or in excessive portions to avoid indigestion and gas, and eating properly to avoid indigestion and gas. Increase your vitality by practicing yoga and stretching. Your back pain should go away on its own after you take the necessary steps.
