This is Why You Have Acid Reflux. 4 Top Reasons

I have experienced acid reflux and poor digestion for many years in the past when there was no internet and no relevant information available. During that time, I struggled and suffered tremendously, which significantly impacted my life, energy, and success.

Most doctors are not experts on this subject unless they have experienced acid reflux for an extended period. Therefore, having experience, knowledge, and practical understanding is crucial for effectively treating acid reflux symptoms and understanding one’s body.

While some may dismiss acid reflux as nothing to worry about, they are being ignorant about the subject and don’t fully grasp the potential consequences. In my philosophy, every illness and condition is caused by a combination of several factors and reasons.

Each deficiency and condition can impact our health and vitality. For instance, acid reflux not only decreased my vitality and affected my sleep and appetite, but it also had implications for my mental health, focus, and caused excessive tooth decay. Oral health and the condition of your teeth are more important than you may realize.

Without further ado, let’s start with the first reason.

  1. You are eating or have been eating the wrong foods.

Unhealthy and damaging foods, basically foods that are not natural and contain additives and preservatives. Anyone with a sensitive digestive system may experience negative effects such as acid reflux either after a certain period of time or right away. Some people don’t mind, don’t care or know how these foods affect them. Continuing to eat the same harmful foods can result in the same negative effects.

  1. Your digestive system and bowel movements are not optimal.

One of the main reasons you experience acid reflux, indigestion, bloating, and nausea after eating or in the morning is due to your colon being backed up with toxins, constipation, and not being able to have regular healthy bowel movements.

This is again due to unhealthy eating, inadequate fiber intake, and insufficient water consumption. Improving these aspects can provide relief from acid reflux and GERD.

  1. Overeating or Eating while under stress.

Everyone’s body is different, so some people can’t handle too much food at once, especially too much protein or fat that their body can’t handle or digest due to body type, stomach acid, and enzymes, causing indigestion symptoms.

Stress, worry, and anger can significantly weaken your stomach and digestion, affecting your appetite. Eating smaller, easily digestible foods is ideal when stressed or worried until the stress and worries are resolved. I have another blog regarding the connection between stress, anger, and the liver.

  1. Lack of stomach acid.

Some people may not produce enough stomach acid due to body type, overall vitality, diet, and lifestyle. Adequate stomach acid is necessary for proper food digestion.

Insufficient stomach acid can lead to improper breakdown of protein and fat, causing gas, discomfort, accumulation of toxins, and bacteria in the body. Increasing stomach acid can be achieved through a healthy diet, stress reduction, and sufficient sleep.

These are the top four main reasons for having acid reflux. For more extensive and detailed information about this topic, you can read my other blog here.
